How to deal with doorstep callers
Kent County Council's Trading Standards department has produced a booklet of advice on how to deal with unwelcome doorstep callers.

Doorstep sellers, and in particular, bogus builders and rogue traders often deliberately target vulunerable people, persuading them to part with large sums of money for shoddy work. In some cases they are also linked to distraction burglaries.
A booklet developed by Kent's Consumer Support Network gives practical advice and tips on how to avoid falling victim to doorstep sellers.
The illustrated brochure warns how to guard against doorstep sellers and contains useful phone numbers of all the partners within the Kent Consumer Support Network as well as a page for consumers to fill in details of other useful phone numbers such as doctors and utilities.
